Last weeks Revera Consulting Group witnessedsomebusiness trips to Russia, the purpose of which was participation in a couple of events held within the CIS Legal Summit and organized on the basis of the Belarusian Embassy in the Russian Federation in Moscow. Thus, Alexander Goretsky, the managing partner of Revera Consulting Group, took part in the discussion at the practical seminar “Organization of work to prevent and settle problem debts of organizations in the territory of the Russian Federation”. Meanwhile, Dmitry Arkhipenko, the head of Revera Consulting Group, attended the session “Future of legal services market in CIS” within the framework of the CIS Legal Summit held simultaneously with the International Investment Forum “Sochi-2014”.
Sochi Legal took place at the same time with and very close to the International Investment Forum “Sochi-2014” in which thousands of representatives of business and government bodies took part. Within Sochi Legal they discussed the most topical issues regarding cooperation of lawyers from various CIS countries.
The Forum became one of the main legal events of this autumn. The event gathered more than 200 delegates from 26 countries worldwide, including about 50 corporate lawyers and top managers from the largest Russian and foreign companies.
Within the panel the representatives discussed for which legal services there was a high demand at the market and how this demand would change, clients from which countries would be main clients for Russian lawyers in the nearest future, what effect had the sanctions on the market of legal services, what international legal firms expected and how they adapted to the situation, as well as what should be changed in a management model for a legal firm to be successful.
One more event Alexander Goretsky, the RCG managing partner, took part in was a seminar organized by the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. The practical seminar “Organization of work to prevent and settle problem debts of organizations in the territory of the Russian Federation” gathered more than 60 representatives of Belarusian enterprises-exporters, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, managers of the Centre for arbitration and mediation at the CCI of Russia, the Board of mediators at the CCI of Russia, the Association of corporate collectors, as well as leading lawyers of the Republic of Belarus working in the business area.
In the course of the event Belarusian business entities were provided with the information about existing in Russia alternative mechanisms in the sphere of economic disputes settlement and resolution, including activities of arbitration courts, boards of mediators, about information and financial instruments of risk management, about possibilities to collect problem debts of organizations with the use of extrajudicial mechanisms.“Our company always welcomes an opportunity to participate in such events, because from the one side they are a wonderful platform for an interesting discussion, and from the other side they make it possible to identify main market trends.
